Center for Neural Information Processing
Centre de la Theorie d'Information Neuronale (CTIN)

I&C - EPFL

Aim. The aim of the Center for Neural Information Processing is to give a forum for people interested in the theory of brain-style information processing.

Activity. The main activity consists in the organization of a series of Seminars in Computational Neuroscience

Why such a Center? Several researchers in the School of Computer and Communication Sciences have a small (or even a large) part of their activities in fields that have an overlap with problems that arise in Neural Information Processing. A center is an informal setting where the different views on problems (e.g. vision and perception) and techniques (e.g. nonlinear systems and information theory) can be exchanged. The Center for Neural Information Processing and the Center for Brain and Mind serve together as a common interface between the School of Computer and Communication Sciences and the School of Life Sciences .

Associated labs. The following professors within the School of Computer and Communication Sciences are informally associated with the Center for Neural Information Processing.
A. Billard , STI
W. Gerstner I&C and Brain-Mind Institute
M. Hasler I&C
B. Rimoldi I&C
A.-I. Ijspeert I&C
S. Suesstrunk I&C

The main activity of the center is the organization of the seminar series in computational neuroscience.
